62-Year-Old School Guard Charged with Student Sex
June 12, 2013
MOUNT CLEMENS, MI — A retired Warren police officer stands accused of having a sexual relationship with a sixteen-year-old student during the course of his assignment as School Resource Officer at a local high school.
The Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office is charging Dale Wayne Malesh with ten counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct, 3rd Degree, a felony carrying a maximum statutory penalty of fifteen years.
Malesh, 62, is alleged to have carried on the sexual affair with the female student between December 2012 and March 2013. The assignations are believed to have taken place at Malesh’s home in Warren, and at Dooley Park in Roseville.
Malesh already faces four counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct 3rd Degree for the incidents arising in Warren.
“The facts of this case shock the conscience,” said Macomb Prosecutor Eric Smith. “This officer was assigned to protect these children, not to prey on them.”
Malesh will be arraigned today in 39th District Court, Roseville, at 1:00 p.m.
