CONVICTED MURDERER SENTENCED TO 52-72 YEARS
MOUNT CLEMENS, MI — A Bruce Township man was sentenced today by Judge Jennifer Faunce to 52 to 72 years in prison, following a jury trial in which he was convicted of Second Degree Murder and Felony Firearm.
Defendant Andrew Fiacco murdered his one-time friend Stephen McAfee on March 10, 2016. Fiacco later mutilated, and then buried McAfee’s body in two separate locations behind his parent’s home in Bruce Township. The body was left buried for 13 months. A break in the case finally led to the victim’s body being uncovered.
Macomb County Prosecuting Attorney Eric Smith appreciated the sentence ordered by Judge Faunce, echoing her sentiments.
“This Defendant has shown absolutely zero remorse for the life he took. After murdering and mutilating Stephen, Defendant continued to lie to authorities and gave the victim’s family false hope that their son was still alive,” said Prosecutor Smith. “We hope that this sentence can bring closure to the family’s long and strenuous journey for justice.”
Fiacco was sentenced to 50 to 70 years for the Second Degree Murder conviction, which is consecutive to the 2 year Possession of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony.
